Belize Literacy Program Conducts Technology and Curriculum Workshops in Belize, August 2012
Thirteen teachers from District 5370 travelled to Belize early in August to work with teachers and administrators in Belize.  Sandra Gluth and her team of volunteer facilitators led Learning with Technologies Workshops throughout the country.
Another team of seven facilitators, led by Greg Wondga, led Off to a Good Start workshops for selected Belizean leaders – sharing best practices and new insights on engaging Belizean students in mathematics and science. The primary mathematics and science curriculum documents (created with the assistance of the Belize Literacy Program) are now complete and 60 schools have been identified to begin implementation at specific levels.
Hurricane Ernesto visited Belize briefly while our teachers were there. Those who were near the coast went inland until Ernesto moved on.
Sandra Gluth created a blog for the facilitators on this trip. Visit the blog and follow the activities of these talented and committed professionals. Learn more about the Belize Literacy Program at its website, which also includes a blog and a photo gallery.
